The room price for the reunion hotel in Niagara Falls is $85 per night. I mistakenly typed in $89 in the reunion packet that I mailed. Also, Skybus Airlines has gone bankrupt so it is no longer an option to fly in to Niagara Falls. Buffalo International is the closest airport.

Thanks,

A Corry shipmate has been diagnosed with pleural plaques on his lungs due to asbestos exposure. He is going to file a report with the VA and wants to know if any shipmates have done this in the past. If you could provide any info on what is the best way to go about this, you can contact me and I will forward the info to him.

Greetings Shipmates,

I am pleased to be able to inform you that The USS Forrest Sherman DD-931 has a new home!  The Calvert County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously today to extend an invitation to the Foundation to locate the ship in Solomons Island, Maryland.  They further voted to request the land for the project from the Navy immediately.  In addition they voted to fund a feasibility study that will be required for the project.  I will let you know of our time line in the next week or so.  In the mean time, its full speed ahead!

Santa came early this year!

Best,
Kurt, Note: Summited by R Palmer

Mr. William Bishop,

My name is Patricia M. Godwin and I was hoping to get in touch with you to find out if you knew my Father, Max E. Godwin RDSN.  He was a Radarman during the same time you were stationed on the USS Corry.  I have a photo of him and six other sailors, all recognizable.  If you knew my Father please contact me:

I would really like to find out who these other men are.  My Father passed away 14 Sep 04, and was buried in Buckeye, AZ with full Military honors.  We were from Texas.

April 1, 2005: ROOM RATES FOR REUNION: There seems to be a little confusion on costs for reunion so I will break them down for two people on a three night stay. The total cost for two persons staying three nights in the same room is $422 and this includes all taxes. Rough breakdown follows;

6 buffet breakfasts @$10 each is...................$60
2 welcome buffets @$25 each is....................$50
2 banquet dinners @ $35 each is....................$70
3 nights room @ $80.66 is...........................$242

I hope this clears things in everyone's mind. If you are coming by yourself your total cost is $342 for 3 nights, breakfasts, dinners and room. Also includes all your taxes. These prices are only slightly hirer than the reunion in Charleston.
